Which hormone is known as the emergency hormone in our body? How does it help in coping during an emergency?

Adrenaline is often referred to as the “emergency hormone” because it is released in response to stress or danger. It prepares the body for a “fight-or-flight” response by:

  • Increasing heart rate ❤️: This increases blood flow to the muscles and brain.
  • Dilating blood vessels: This lowers blood pressure and increases blood flow to the muscles.
  • Increasing blood sugar levels: This provides energy for the muscles.
  • Increasing breathing rate: This increases oxygen intake.

✅ Adrenaline is produced by the adrenal glands, which are located on top of the kidneys. It is released into the bloodstream in response to signals from the nervous system
