- Compounds: Compounds are substances composed of two or more different types of atoms chemically bonded together in fixed proportions. Compounds have distinct chemical properties different from those of their constituent elements.
- Example: Water (H2O) is a compound composed of two hydrogen atoms bonded to one oxygen atom. It has unique properties different from hydrogen and oxygen individually.
