What are the Types of Pure Substances?

Elements are pure substances composed of only one type of atom.

Compounds are pure substances composed of two or more different types of atoms chemically bonded together.

Example: Salt (NaCl) is a compound formed from the chemical bonding of sodium (Na) and chloride (Cl) ions.
